Complete and composite hardware solution with feature-rich software What makes the laboratory unique is that it's a complete system of integrated devices-that being an all-in-one main unit with a built-in OPS computer and DVD reader-with a feature-rich software supporting advanced "each-with-each" conversation functionalities. An included "Together" bundle allows a teacher to be among his or her students; it consists of a wireless headset for the teacher and a tablet computer to remotely control the laboratory. The system can be also retrofitted with a module for connecting a uTrack24 audio recorder. It can record up to 24 tracks at the same time.

The Mentor Advanced laboratory can simultaneously redirect up to 8 audio sources to freely chosen pairs or groups of students.

Laboratory features:

  • Dividing students into freely configurable pairs, threes or fours. Up to 16 such groups can be formed.
  • Work in groups:
    • Dividing students into up to 16 arbitrary groups which can work on their own, distinctive tasks simultaneously. For example, the first group could have a conversation with a teacher while the rest of the st8udents could listen to an audio material or discuss within their own groups.
    • Free reallocation of students between the groups.
    • Quick—just by drag-and-dropping an icon—moving students between groups.
    • Group conversation that can be monitored by a teacher.
    • Group conversation with a teacher, transmitted to selected listeners.
    • Single-student conversation with a teacher, transmitted to selected listeners.
    • Single-student conversation with a group, with or without the transmitting.
    • A part of a single group can converse with each other and a teacher while remaining part of the group listens.
  • Work in pairs:
    • Dividing students into up to 16 dialogue pairs; a member of a pair can hear only the second member of the pair. Pairs are constructed freely by seat numbers, e.g. 1+9, 5+12 etc.
    • Pair dialogues with a background music.
    • Pair dialogues with a teacher.
  • Eavesdropping any student, pair or group.
  • Conversation with a student, or a pair or group of students.
  • Conversation with a student, transmitted to selected listeners (one of the groups).
  • Conversation with a group, transmitted to selected listeners (one of the groups).
  • Talks recorded by a software audio recorder are saved as WAV files.

The "Together" bundle:

Wireless control over all laboratory's functions through a 10" tablet computer with any OS (Android, Windows, Linux, macOS or iOS - it needs just an internet browser). Teacher's wireless headset allows him or her to move freely through a classroom; it allows working close with students, reacting to their needs quicker.



Multi-Track audio recorder:

Enables simultaneous recording of sound from user consoles and groups of students. The recordings can be then replayed or emitted as an audio material to the students. It has 24 independent tracks to work with.

Main unit of the language laboratory

Main unit of the Mentor Advanced digital language laboratory is equipped with a DVD recorder, and a OPS PC with Windows and 4th generation Intel CPU i5-4690S 3.2GHz. The main unit has 8 mono (or 4 stereo) audio inputs and a built-in 40W stereo amplifier.

Unique features:

  • Dividing students into freely configurable pairs, threes or fours. A teacher decides who should be assigned to whom.

MC two-channel digital audio recorder software is independent from the Mentor software and is a tool for learning foreign languages dedicated for students. The software is designed to be used with language classrooms where all the students have an access to a PC.
